Production Lead

Location: Santa Rosa, CA
Job Type: Full-Time, Regular
Shift: Grave Shift — Monday–Friday, 11:00 PM–7:30 AM
Pay: $24.00–$28.00 per hour, DOE
Language Requirement: Basic English communication skills required

Position Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced Production Lead to support the Production Supervisor in coordinating daily manufacturing operations. This position plays an important role in keeping production running efficiently, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring Manufacturing Associates have the resources and direction they need to be successful.

The ideal candidate has prior leadership experience in a production environment, strong communication skills, and the ability to make sound decisions and adjustments in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. Experience in assembly or medical device manufacturing is highly preferred.

Essential Job Duties

  • Support the Production Supervisor by assigning daily work responsibilities to Manufacturing Associates.
  • Organize and coordinate employee break schedules and make staffing adjustments throughout the shift as needed.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for production floor status and communicate issues affecting workflow, quality, or efficiency.
  • Monitor work center performance and help identify and resolve production issues.
  • Verify work instructions and documentation for accuracy and communicate discrepancies to the appropriate departments.
  • Work with Engineering, Quality, and Document Control to address documentation discrepancies and ensure necessary updates are completed.
  • Verify Work Order completion and initiate line clearance procedures.
  • Ensure production documentation is complete, accurate, and properly maintained.
  • Confirm at job start-up that each work center is organized and properly prepared for production.
  • Ensure required tools, components, packaging, and materials are available before production begins.
  • Help ensure work centers are appropriately staffed to minimize downtime.
  • Promote a safe, productive, professional, and collaborative work environment.
  • Assist with maintaining quality and productivity standards throughout the shift.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of leadership experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to understand, speak, and read English.
  • Basic English communication skills required.
  • Assembly and/or medical manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Basic computer skills, including Internet, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to learn and use manufacturing or production management systems.
  • Strong counting and basic math skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently stand, walk, bend, squat, twist, reach, and otherwise move throughout the production area.
  • Perform occasional repetitive motions and grasping.
  • Occasionally climb to reach areas on machines or racks.
  • Lift, move, or transfer up to 50 pounds occasionally and more than 20 pounds frequently.
  • Occasionally sit, grasp items, or perform keyboarding and computer-related tasks.
  • Must have sufficient visual acuity to accurately inspect work and make general observations of facilities, equipment, and production areas.
  • Work may involve exposure to noise, vibration, and indoor and outdoor environmental conditions.
  • May be exposed to fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or areas with limited ventilation.
