Located in Acton, Massachusetts, Mark T. Wendell Tea Company (www.marktwendell.com) has been sourcing, blending, and shipping specialty teas for over 122 years. We're looking for a Production & Fulfillment Associate who wants to build a long-term career with us, not just take a job.

Please note: This is a specialty food production role, not a large-scale warehouse or distribution position. There's no forklift operation, heavy machinery, or commercial driving involved — the work centers on hand-blending teas, hand-packing orders, and maintaining a small, detail-focused operation.

About the Role

Reporting to the Business Owner, the Production & Fulfillment Associate oversees the day-to-day work of blending, preparing, packaging, and shipping our teas, and manages our product inventory alongside one part-time team member. This is a hands-on, detail-driven role — you'll be blending custom teas using specialized equipment, hand-preparing orders, and helping refine our processes, working side-by-side with your teammate and the business owner rather than just directing from a distance.

What You'll Do

•       Blend custom teas using specialized equipment

•       Prepare and package products for daily customer shipments

•       Label products for inventory and outgoing orders

•       Receive incoming product shipments and unpack for inventory

•       Maintain daily cleanliness of the work area in compliance with food facility health codes

•       Manage product inventory and make re-ordering recommendations to the owner

•       Ensure the team follows established processes, and identify opportunities to improve them

•       Support and guide the part-time team member

•       Solve problems as they arise and escalate issues early

•       Take on other responsibilities as assigned by the Business Owner

What We're Looking For

•      Previous experience in a small-team environment, preferably in a production, fulfillment, or food-related setting where attention to detail is critical

•       Strong interpersonal skills and comfort working in a small, team-based environment

•       Strong written and verbal communication skills

•       Ability to accurately follow detail-oriented processes with consistency

•       Superior organizational skills and attention to detail

•       Basic computer skills and typing ability; experience with UPS WorldShip, Stamps.com)

•       A flexible, adaptable approach and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment

•       Strong multitasking abilities, as every day can be different

•       Ability to navigate and resolve interpersonal differences in the workplace

Requirements

•       Experience in a small-team, detail-oriented environment (production, food service, retail, or similar) and positive references are preferred

•       Willingness to complete a background check as a condition of employment

•       Ability to stand for extended periods

•       Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

•       Ability to work comfortably in an environment with loose teas, which can be dusty at times

Schedule

This is an in-person role, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM, including a 45-minute daily paid break. During peak shipping periods, up to one additional hour per day may be required, offset with 4 additional days off in the slower season. Flexible scheduling will be considered for the right candidate.

Compensation & Benefits

•       Salary: $48,000–$52,000 per year, commensurate with experience

•       15 PTO days plus 10 paid holidays annually

•       3-day weekends every August

•       50% employee discount on company products
