POSITION SUMMARY

The Assembly Operator performs manual assembly operations on CVG products including seating systems, structural components, wire harness assemblies, trim panels, and related sub-assembliesin accordance withwork instructions, engineering specifications, and customer quality requirements. This roleis responsible forbuilding parts accurately and efficiently at assigned workstations, performing in-process quality checks,maintainingaccurateproduction records, and adhering to all safety and 5S standards. The Assembly Operator supports CVG's commitment to continuous improvement and delivers consistent, high-quality output in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assembly & Production

  • Perform assigned assembly tasks at designated workstations including fitting, fastening, joining, and installing components and sub-assembliesin accordance withwork orders, process work instruction sheets, and engineering drawings; meet established production targets and cycle times.

  • Operate hand tools, power tools, pneumatic equipment, and fixtures asrequired; follow prescribed assembly sequences, torque specifications, and build standards to ensure product quality and conformance to customer requirements.

  • Monitor part quality throughout production;identifyand report non-conforming parts or process issues to the supervisor promptly; complete production records including output counts, scrap, and rework accurately.

  • Assemble mirrors using frames, adhesives, bars, and other required components.
  • Prepare and check mirror glass for defects according to work instructions.
  • Attach and test features such as power adjustment mechanisms.
  • Inspect materials and finished products for defects, insuring adherence to company quality standards.
  • Verify functionality and alignment to meet design requirements.
  • Operate and maintain assembly tools and machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Examine completed work to verify conformance to standards.
  • Refer to process work instructions for a step-by-step guide.

Safety, Quality & Continuous Improvement

  • Adhere to all established safety policies, procedures, and practicesat all times; wear required PPE andmaintaina clean, organized work area in compliance with 5S standards.

  • Perform in-process quality inspections per Inspection Instruction sheets; support first-off and last-off part checks to verify conformance before and after production runs.

  • Support CVG's continuous improvement culture by collaborating with team members to improve quality, safety, and efficiency; performadditionalduties as assigned by the supervisor.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GEDrequired.

  • Prior experience in a production assembly or manufacturing environment preferred; ability to read and follow work instruction sheets and assembly drawings.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS

  • Prior assembly experience in an automotive, commercial vehicle, seating, wire harness, or structural components manufacturing environment; familiarity with in-process quality inspection and basic production documentation.

  • A reliable, safety-first production associate who takes pride inbuildquality,maintainsa clean workstation, and contributes positively to team performance on the production floor.

  • Basic mechanical aptitude; comfortable operating hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic equipment; ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive motions, andlift upto 50 pounds.

  • Dependable, team-oriented, and able to follow written and verbal work instructions accurately.
