Position Overview

The Production Test Supervisor oversees the testing of new and refurbished products, maintains department processes, and ensures products are being tested to customer specifications and requirements. The Production Test Supervisor will supervise production test technicians providing mentoring, support, and guidance; ensuring test technicians are adequately trained, and following production test procedures, using best practices and applicable workmanship standards; and provide labor estimates and actuals for proposals and reporting purposes. The position reports to the Director of Production Operations.

Responsibilities
  • Supports the organization's goal of improving manufacturing testing efficiency by conducting or assigning test and assembly procedures, assessing the results of the manufacturing process, and propose improvements based on the findings.
  • Develops and maintain systems to report test results and findings to superiors and stakeholders.
  • Monitors production test costs and processes; continually seeks areas where processes they can be streamlined to produce cost savings.
  • Identifies and recommends new manufacturing and test equipment or techniques that could improve efficiency and quality.
  • Identifies test sets, fixtures, etc. to test subassemblies and assemblies to include mobil test carts, functional test to test component/panel functionality and emulators designed to test equipment rapidly and thoroughly.
  • Coordinates with Quality Manager, Planners, and Program Managers to ensure manufacturing issues are addressed and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Ensures JIRA cases are created for field and floor failures and provide data resulting from the data to management.
  • Ensure test technicians have troubleshooting skills to evaluate field and floor failures.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Hires and trains manufacturing inspection and testing staff.
  • Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of departmental staff.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
Required Experience/Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a relevant field.
  • Experience working with emulator test equipment.
  • Associate's degree in Management, Manufacturing, or a relevant field.
  • 3 years experience in leadership, managing teams in a development and manufacturing environment.

  • Must have successfully led and operated quality and test systems.

  • Working knowledge of integrated logistics, testing, processes, and procedures.

  • Thorough understanding of testing methodologies and Software Development Life Cycles.

  • Experience with requirements review and manual test verification.

  • Thorough understanding of structured development protocols, e.g., version management, change management, and build processes.

  • Clear and concise verbal, written, and interpersonal skills including the ability to work with all levels and areas of a company.

  • Organized with attention to detail.

  • Excellent managerial and supervisory skills.

  • Extensive knowledge of inspection and testing principles and techniques.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Special Requirements/Security Clearance
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance.
