Job Title: Production Associate
Department: Manufacturing/Production
Reports To: Shelling Plant Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time/Seasonal
Pay Rate: $13.00
 
A Day in the Life of a Production Shelling Associate
As a Production Shelling Associate, you’ll help prepare pecans for use in delicious baked goods and confections. Your day will include working at a shaker machine that separates pecans, carefully inspecting the product as it moves along. You’ll identify and sort good quality pecans from shells and defective pieces. This position requires excellent focus, attention to detail, and the ability to stand or sit for long periods in a production environment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Monitor shaker machines that separate pecans from shells and debris
Inspect pecans continuously for quality, removing defective or damaged pieces
Sort and separate good product from waste according to quality standards
Maintain focus and attention to detail for extended periods
Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe
Follow food safety and sanitation practices
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
Perform additional tasks as assigned
Qualifications and Experience:
Ability to stand or sit for extended periods while maintaining focus on repetitive tasks
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify product defects
Comfortable working in a production environment with repetitive motion
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. occasionally
Willingness to follow instructions and work as part of a team
Previous production, food processing, or quality inspection experience preferred but not required
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (EST)
Mandatory Overtime, no exceptions
Schedule may change as the season ramps up.
Assignment Type: Seasonal – position runs through April 1st, 2027. Possible full-time opportunities for top-performing employees.
