Job description

PrideStaff is seeking skilled CNC Machine Operators for a manufacturing company in Escalon, CA. 
The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for operating machinery and aiding in the machining of a variety of components at an intermediate level in order to support the organization's production requirements. 
 
Duties and Responsibilities include the Following
  • Ability to use minor machines including overhead crane, fork lift, and hydraulic press.
  • Familiar with the machine controls involved in completing a task on a particular machine.
  • Ability to follow instructions with respect to setting up the machine such as identifying proper tooling and fixtures to perform various tasks 
  • Ability to load material into the machine
  • Ability to follow instructions with respect to setting up the machine to perform various tasks.
  • Ability to inspect the component as it comes off the machine for conformance to the appropriate specification.
  • Ability to recognize a suspected problem within a particular process or machine and alert the supervisor.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness and orderliness of the machine and surrounding area.
  • Ability to deburr all parts 
  • Ability to follow production logs/digital logs 
  • Possesses proficient understanding of measurements and tolerances utilizing calipers, micrometers, tape measure 
  • Ability to use commonly used software and internal programs 
  • Ability to clear common machine alarms 
  • Ability to troubleshoot common machining problems such as poor surface finish, poor tool life, accuracy issues, etc
  • Sufficient knowledge of various production parts to recognize when there may be a problem that will affect operation of the final product or other downstream processes 
  • Ability to assist with basic machine maintenance 
  • Ability to efficiently run multiple machines/work centers 
  • Ability to run manual Lathe and Mill for simple operations such as countersinking or turning parts 
  • Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings 
Skills and Competencies Include the Following
  • Language Skills - Ability to read a limited number of two or three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between sets of numbers. Ability to speak and print simple sentences. 
  • Mathematical Skills - Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry 
  • Reasoning Ability - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving few concrete variables in standardized situations. 
  • Computer Skills - To perform this job successfully, an individual will have to interact with a computer. Basic skills required shall include the use of internet software and the ability to look-up, open, and manage files. 
Education and Experience Requirements
  • One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and able to show proof of eligibility to work in the U.S. 
  • Must be willing to submit to a pre-employment background check and drug screening 
Physical Requirements: 
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is seldom required to sit, frequently required to stand, and frequently required to walk. The employee must frequently use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pound.  The employee must occasionally talk or listen. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee may seldom be required to travel.
Working Environment
The working environment is characterized as a shop setting. The temperature in the shop closely follows that of the outdoors. Outdoor tasks may be assigned. This position can expect to regularly come into contact with dirt, grease, and oil.  An employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
 
Schedule: Monday-Thursday from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm 
Pay Range varies DOE: $30/HR-$40/HR
