Job description

Responsible for operating rewind machine to inspect for quality, slit down and verify label accuracy to customer specifications. Must follow all Standard Operating Procedures as outlined in the job responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
• Operate inspection/rewind machine to slit down and remove defective labels from printed rolls
• Rewinds labels into rolls according to customer specifications and internal procedures
• Visually inspects labels for defects
• Verifying job information and label accuracy
• Move/lift rolls as required utilizing pallet jack/roll lift, subject to weight limits
• Must fill out job paperwork and collect label samples per SOP
• Communicate quality concerns to press operators and supervisor
• Communicate job status with press operator and/or TL
• Dispose of waste (printed labels)
• Cut cores (cardboard 3" or 6" cores used to roll up labels)
• Print stickers as required and label rolls per customer specifications
• Adheres to SOP's, procedures, and work instructions
• Follow priorities as instructed by supervisor
• Must have an eye for detail. Report any suspect quality that is outside the quality guidelines (Specification folders)
• Operates the rewind table top as needed
• Learn and use our job management system- Radius
• Learn and use AVT, our Advanced Vision Technology System used during inspection
• Ensure area is always kept to 5S standards
• Clean machine and area daily
• Performs basic maintenance and other job duties as assigned
• Report all maintenance issues to maintenance database and team
• Participation in helping with training new members, as needed
Requirements:
• Perform effectively with attention to detail, in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment
• Must be able to maintain good attendance and punctuality
• Must be self-motivated to work independently, as well as a part of a team
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time as well as bend, twist, kneel, reach, etc.
• Must be able to meet production needs and deadlines
• Must be available/flexible to different shifts, to meet needs of production. This may include working weekends. Shifts may rotate every 3 months
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Must have strong basic mathematical skills (fractions, ratios, rulers and decimals, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
• Must have the ability to read and write instructions
• Must have moderate computer skills
• High School Diploma or GED
