Job description

Position Overview1911 Gold Corporation is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Refinery & Gravity Circuit Operator to join our metallurgical team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and secure recovery of gold. Your dual focus will involve operating the gravity concentration circuit specifically Knelson Concentrators and shaking tables as well as executing the final smelting and refining processes to produce gold dorΓ© bars.This position requires a high level of integrity, strong mechanical aptitude, and strict adherence to environmental, safety, and security protocols.Key Responsibilities Maintain a clean and a safe work environment Strictly adhere to the mine's high-security protocols regarding the handling, transport, and storage of gold. Work under strict "two-person rule" guidelines within the secure gold room environment. Maintain meticulous logs of daily throughput, concentrate weights, furnace melt parameters, and final gold weights. Prepare and mix appropriate chemical fluxes (borax, silica, nitre, soda ash) based on concentrate composition to ensure clean slag separation. Safely charge, operate, and maintain high-temperature induction furnaces to melt gold concentrates, flux precipitates, and calcine material. Execute the precise pouring of molten gold into molds to produce high-purity gold dorΓ© bars. Clean, sample (drifting/pin tube), weigh, and stamp finished gold bars with required serial numbers and weights. Operate the Knelson concentrator and table gold concentrate to recover gravity gold efficiently Prepare gold bullion for shipment Inspect process areas and equipment to identify issues, leaks, or abnormal conditions. Operate production machinery and equipment such as overhead cranes, valves, and gauges for the purpose of maximizing production. Support maintenance activities by isolating equipment and preparing systems for repair. Follow all safety, environmental, and operating procedures, including lockout and permit requirements. Work closely with team members and supervisors to maintain production quality and reliability. Perform all other duties as assigned. Required Experience & Skill Set High school diploma or equivalent required A minimum of 2 years refining experience preferred Demonstrated initiative, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn. Ability to follow directions. Ability to train others. Proven safety and attendance record required Understanding of computer applications such as Word and Excel. Understanding of written and verbal procedures. Ability to work under minimal supervision required Ability to communicate and effectively work with a variety of individuals (i.e., operations, Maintenance, Metallurgist and Lab) required.
