Role Summary/Purpose:

The Product Training & Field Support Specialist delivers technical expertise, product training, and field support to customers, partners, and internal teams. This role explains product functionality, supports installation and maintenance activities, troubleshoots issues, performs product testing, and contributes to the creation and improvement of technical documentation. The specialist ensures end‑users have the knowledge and tools required for successful product operation while providing valuable feedback to internal teams for continuous improvement.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Machine Assembly & Repair
  • Assemble, install, and commission new machines to company standards.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair customer machines and equipment in a timely and professional manner.
  • Perform preventative maintenance to ensure optimal machine performance and longevity.
  • Customer Support & Training
  • Travel to deliver hands-on training to customers on the proper use and maintenance of Kobus equipment.
  • Conduct on-site product demonstrations and practical trials for potential customers.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to ensure customer satisfaction and successful machine operation.
  • Reporting & Communication
  • Report on ground and site conditions to assist with technical evaluation and sales planning.
  • Document all service activities, including customer interactions, issues encountered, and resolutions provided.
  • Escalate complex or recurring problems to management for further analysis.
  • Sales & Promotion
  • Actively promote Kobus consumables and complementary products during customer visits.
  • Support sales initiatives by identifying opportunities for additional product or service offerings.
  • Logistics & Coordination
  • Arrange and manage travel logistics in line with customer schedules and project requirements.
  • Submit accurate and timely expense reports in accordance with company policy.
  • Inventory & Equipment Management
  • Maintain appropriate stock levels of parts, tools, and consumables.
  • Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and compliant with company standards.
  • Ensure proper care, maintenance, and record-keeping for company vehicles, tools, and equipment.
  • Safety & Compliance
  • Adhere to all company safety procedures, both on-site and at customer locations.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement
  • Ensure all work—assembly, repair, testing, and documentation—meets company quality standards and customer expectations.
  • Follow and help improve quality control processes and inspection checklists.
  • Identify and report recurring issues, contributing to product and process improvements.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action efforts to reduce repeat issues.
  • Maintain accuracy and attention to detail in all service records, ensuring traceability and accountability.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on mechanical experience, preferably within the water or gas industry.
  •  Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose, repair, and maintain complex equipment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel within the USA and internationally for assignments typically lasting 2–5 days at a time (approximately 50–75% travel max per month).
  • Willingness and ability to work outside in adverse conditions. 
  • Must hold and maintain a valid State of Texas driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability with a proactive, “can-do” and innovative mindset.
  • Proven ability to follow directions, work independently, and collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Dependable, punctual, and committed to delivering high-quality results.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
