Job description

Position Summary
As a Product Manager your primary responsibility is to achieve and preferably exceed revenue and profitability objectives within this unit. In this role you will focus on a mix of downstream, midstream, and upstream marketing.
Reporting to either the Director of Marketing or Senior Product Manager, as a Product Manager you will propose, develop, and execute the strategic roadmap and commercial plan for your assigned portfolio to maximize business performance. As the leader of your respective portfolio, you will have project and product line responsibility in the following areas: Sales Execution, Support and Program Management, Leadership and Team Building, Product Planning, Market Research, and New Product Development.
This is a hybrid role with the requirement of working onsite at our Point Richmond, CA location.
What You'll do as a Product Manager
Marketing Strategy Development, Execution & Program Management
  • Work closely with the commercial team and direct manager to increase product penetration and win rate through the development of tools and programs that provide a seamless approach to selling value
  • With the support of the direct manager, collaboratively identify issues, opportunities, and associated strategies within assigned procedural and product areas through frequent conversations and interactions with Customers, sales leadership, and account managers
  • Support and participate in sales meetings, national and regional conferences, and events
  • Communicate with field representatives to ensure awareness of product changes, pricing changes, new sales tools, corrective measures, etc.

Product or Category Leadership & Team Building
  • With the assistance of the direct manager, create and support short- and long-term product and procedural space planning processes within assigned areas to achieve corporate goals
  • Establish the ability to win mindshare with internal cross-functional team members through a collaborative approach to identifying solutions based on data, building excitement, and achieving consensus specific to assigned product or procedural areas to drive projects forward

Procedural & Product Planning
  • With guidance and support from the direct manager, collaborate with sales and marketing leadership on the development and execution of Plans of Action (POAs) and new product launches, including:
    • forecasting and financial planning/business case development
    • market potential/opportunity and target share by product line
    • needs-based Customer segmentation
    • value proposition creation
    • competitive analysis
    • reimbursement & GPO / IDN trends
    • understanding of market pricing by product line
    • key issues and trends
    • strategies to support sales execution
    • product lifecycle planning
    • product training
  • Identify Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and Key Accounts (KAs) in the relevant market or Customer community, often related to assigned product areas of focus
  • Gain a general understanding of the competitive product marketplace
  • Stay informed on current market trends and sales analysis to sharpen the ability to plan, review, adjust, and approve product and procedural plans, including the identification of future product development opportunities
  • Working closely with the direct manager, understand the approach to pricing strategy stewardship within assigned product categories

Market Research & New Product Development
  • Provide leadership in all phases of the Stage-Gate process, making sure to leverage the direct manager
  • Provide commercial and clinical Voice of Customer insights to support recommendations for new product development based on qualitative and quantitative research
  • With guidance from the direct manager, support cross-functional new product development teams with market objectives when completing documentation (i.e., PRD, IOS, labeling, etc.), feasibility testing, and risk analysis for new products and line extensions
  • Using clinical support and the direct manager as mentors, participate in product testing with Customers to determine if the product meets market needs
  • Participate in planning and preparation for new product launches, including forecasting, sales collateral, equipment evaluation requirements, pricing guidelines, and product training
  • Review industry publications and practices to ensure products meet Customer needs and industry guidelines

The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed
Required:
  • BA or BS degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant business experience
  • 0-2 years of experience in Marketing (medical product marketing experience preferred)

Other:
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Exhibit a strong sense of urgency in executing strategic plans and achieving product revenue goals
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

Pay range for this opportunity is $107,525.00 - $120,000.00. This position is eligible for bonus participation.
Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
