Product Planner
Product Management is a fast-paced environment where innovative thinking is prized. Our team focuses on the delivery of industry leading PC products to support Dell's $50B+ Client business. We lead customer research, portfolio strategy, product definition, and supplier alignment. We are passionate product visionaries looking to solve the biggest pain points for our customers and continually advance the experience for end users. To achieve this, we work cross functionally on technical matters with other departments including Engineering, CTO, Procurement, and Design to bring the vision or our products to life.

You Will:
  • Own the Product: Define a multiyear vision for your product category and own the product definition for one or more of our PC products (Consumer, Commercial, Workstations or Gaming). Write PRDs, set success metrics and be accountable for the outcomes of your product. Build business cases highlighting efficient market coverage that aligns to Dell's business goals and increases market share.

  • Build the Right System: Drive system-level decisions across CPU/GPU, memory, storage, displays and more. Continuously partner with suppliers to stay ahead of market trends and shape their roadmap to align with the trade-offs you're making on your product.

  • Drive Decisions: lead and align cross-functional teams - including engineering, procurement, and design - toward a unified product visions with clear priorities. Help navigate a dynamic technical landscape with rapidly evolving product requirements.

  • Gather Market & Customer Insight: Leverage insights from regional sales team, customer engagements and dedicated research to prioritize investment opportunities within your product. Review advanced market analysis to help determine the why behind customer asks.

  • Tell the Story: Help build the launch narrative that brings your vision to life with customers and sales. Help marketing identify the key differentiators for your product that stand out from the competition.

  • Display Excellent Communication: Deliver concise, executive ready updates and presentations; frame options, trade-offs, and clear recommendations with data. Lead sales and customer engagements to articulate your product vision and strategy to both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Operate like an Owner: Identify issues early, simplify where possible and make the call. When data is ambiguous, create clarity with the tools you have and move with speed.

Essential Requirements
  • 12+ years of related experience in a professional role with a Bachelors degree; or 8+ years with a Masters degree; or equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in product management including the launch of at least three flagship hardware products as the directly accountable product manager.

  • Deep system understanding across x86/Arm CPUs, memory technology, thermal design, displays and storage devices.

  • Exceptional product sense - can turn user insights and competitive teardowns/benchmakrs into clear, testable requirements and bold bets within your product.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement product strategies aligned with company vision and market trends.

  • Strong market analysis skills, significant cross functional collaboration experience and exceptional leadership and communication skills.

Nice to have
  • Expertise with AI PC feature design including local inference and NPU utilization with a familiarity to common benchmarks for AI at the edge.

  • Experience in commercial PC requirements like manageability, security and serviceability or gaming/workstation requirements like aggressive thermal envelopes and high-TDP GPUs

  • Familiarity with the supply base for displays, batteries, and silicon offers within the PC industry

  • Global customer exposure across various geographies and segments of the PC market.

Compensation
Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary range for this position: $190,000 to $235,000
