Overview

Job Purpose

ICE Data Services, Inc., a subsidiary of Intercontinental Exchange, Inc., is looking for a Senior Research Associate, Contributor Relations, to join our Reference Data Operations business. The Contributor Relations Team is primarily focused on global fixed income data procurement for various data operations teams supporting the fixed income reference data business. This role is pivotal to the data maintenance process and supports a variety of market trusted products and services.

As a Senior Research Associate, you will communicate with various fixed income market participants to procure fixed income terms and conditions data for securities issued across the globe and for content associated with both the primary and secondary markets. This role involves establishing new and managing existing relationships with market participants in order to procure fixed income reference data. You will be responsible for handling a variety of data inquiries to procure data in a timely, accurate, and complete manner.

Responsibilities

  • Influence and communicate with market participants including underwriters, issuers, trust administrators and exchanges that have denied providing content to the data operations team through phone and email correspondence to procure required reference data content, resolve data discrepancies and gain an understanding of undefined terms.
  • Procure required documents and/or trusted content utilizing creative internet searches and by conducting direct outreach to aforementioned parties.
  • Make sound subjective decisions when interpreting legal and financial information by using subject matter expertise to infer, deduce and ultimately draw the right conclusions.
  • Distill large amounts of varied information into specific takeaways.
  • Analyze basic challenges to determine the clients' query (referring to data item, client value, product and date of challenge) and review any evidence provided.
  • Analyze, interpret, collate and transform reference data for 1-2 asset classes provided in a variety of legal and financial documents, third party reports and vendor to either confirm our data or initiate an update as a result of a client challenge; keen subject matter expertise in at least one asset class.
  • Interaction with external clients and internal operations and DQ teams.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required 
  • 1-3+ years of financial services or relevant experience
  • Fixed income experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to succinctly explain the value proposition to contacts and make them understand why it is important for their data to be on ICE's platforms
