Job description

Job Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the Distribution Center supervisors, performs various warehouse functions.  These include but are not limited to:  receiving and putting away product, picking, packing, staging and loading orders, housekeeping and performing assigned special projects.  This position requires lifting and the safe operation of material handling equipment. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

50%

Picking, packing, shipping of customer orders, using Radio Frequency hand held device along with receiving and put away.  

20%

Required to operate fork lift and other pick and pack tools.

5%

Adaptability to performing a variety of duties in terms of selecting, packing or shipping products

5%

Utilize proper techniques for lifting, packing, and handling heavy objects

5%

Maintain a clean, safe and productive work environment

5%

Responsible for the careful handling of all merchandise, avoiding damage to products or packaging

5%

Making judgments and decisions as to the appropriate size containers for packing and evaluating the most cost effective methodology for shipment

5%

Other duties as assigned

Minimum Position Qualifications:

Experience

2 + years work experience in a warehouse position, picking, packing and shipping products.  Must be fork lift certified or be able to pass fork lift certification test.

Education Level

High school diploma or GED.  Some college preferred.

Position Requirements

  • Must be able lift up to 70 lbs. 
  • Ability to use scanner systems effectively with minimal errors
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed
  • Ability to meet and maintain a set level of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Good verbal/written communication skills, basic math skills and ability to read
  • Forklift experience is a plus – required to pass forklift certification test
  • Strong team player and the ability to get along with co-workers
  • Hazmat training completed annually – 49CFR, IMDG, IATA every two years.
  • All tasks to be done in a manner that are in keeping with the overall performance goals of -safety – accuracy – productivity – attendance - teamwork
