Job description

Production Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Production Mechanic to maintain, repair, and upgrade essential plant equipment. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and mechanical upgrades.

The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who can communicate effectively across departments, providing clear updates on repair status, parts procurement, and project timelines.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance & Repair: Perform routine, preventive, and predictive maintenance on manufacturing machinery to ensure optimal performance.
  • Emergency Response: Respond promptly to urgent mechanical needs to minimize downtime and keep manufacturing lines running.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and repair complex electrical and mechanical issues, including PLC, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Fabrication & Assembly: Rebuild, design, weld, and fabricate parts as needed to improve or restore machinery.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment conditions, and inventory levels for parts and supplies.
  • Safety & Collaboration: Follow all safety protocols, conduct inspections, and collaborate with technical staff to optimize machine reliability.


Skills & Qualifications

  • Technical Expertise: Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in electrical repairs (up to 480V) and reading electrical schematics.
  • Systems Knowledge: Proven experience with PLCs, gearboxes, and roller/belt conveyors.
  • Fluid Power: Fundamental understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Problem Solving: Excellent diagnostic skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in a physically active manufacturing environment.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certifications or fabrication skills are a plus.


Shift Information

  • Primary Shift: Day Shift.
  • Flexibility: Must be able to work varying hours, including overtime and different shifts when necessary to accommodate manufacturing deadlines.
