Job description

The Material Handling Methods Specialist is responsible for participating in lean Stellantis Industrial Systems activities for the Logistics and Customer Service (LCS) pillar at the plant level. This role indirectly supports daily production; the Material Handling Methods Specialist engages with various production departments to identify and address operations process inefficiencies. The Material Handling Methods Specialist will utilize the Logistics Step Methodology and lean process tools to root cause top issues pertaining to Material Flow, Material Display, Container Management and Inbound Logistics Networks. The Material Handling Methods Specialist participates in and promotes lean Stellantis Industrial Systems activities.

  • Responsible for identifying and leading kaizen projects from inception to completion
  • Responsible for presentation development for lean Stellantis Industrial Systems audit activities
  • Responsible for collaborating with joint pillar teams to create optimal parts delivery to the operator workstation
  • Utilizes problem solving skills and knowledge in lean methodology and tools to root cause and resolve top issues
  • Interacts with all levels of the organization including bargaining and non-bargaining hourly and salary employees as well as executive leadership

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business or a related field
  • Ability to work any shift and overtime as required
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite
  • Public Speaking Skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • 18 Months Experience in prior Manufacturing or Supervisory role
  • Previous experience working in a union environment
  • Ability to demonstrate lean manufacturing knowledge and application
