Job Title:
Telecom Expense Management Project Manager - Expense & Data Analysis (Hybrid/Remote)
Job Summary:
Next Generation, Inc., an Equal-Opportunity Employer, is seeking a Telecom Expense Management Project Manager with strong experience in Telecom Expense Management (TEM), data analysis, and cost optimization to support ongoing operational and strategic initiatives. This is a hybrid/remote role requiring hands-on leadership and collaboration across Finance, IT, and Vendor Management teams. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in telecom financial auditing, invoice analytics, and managing large datasets, with a focus on uncovering cost-saving opportunities rather than traditional project oversight.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead the establishment and optimization of processes to manage costs across telecom services (mobile, landline, cloud, and data center).
  • Perform in-depth data audits and invoice reviews to eliminate billing errors and identify cost inefficiencies.
  • Analyze vendor expenses in comparison to contract budgets and identify savings opportunities.
  • Prepare expense variance and budget forecast reports for monthly and annual cycles.
  • Manage large telecom datasets to produce carrier report analyses and track expense trends.
  • Create financial dashboards and status updates to evaluate spending against project timelines and allocated resources.
  • Support the mid-year and year-end forecasting process; track planned vs. actuals and secure rollovers of unspent funds.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across IT, Finance, and Vendor Operations to align on contract utilization and budget compliance.
  • Investigate and resolve telecom-related financial variances and report insights to leadership.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Strong experience with telecom expense analysis, financial forecasting, and large data reconciliation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas and pivot tables; strong MS PowerPoint and Word skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume data and support audit-quality financial reporting.
  • Experience using ServiceNow, PeopleSoft, and other financial/ERP tools for tracking and reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail, data integrity, and process improvement.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Proven experience optimizing financial processes and supporting cost containment initiatives.

Preferred Skills:
  • Familiarity with telecom carrier services, cloud billing models, or IT service management.
  • Experience developing and managing dashboards and automated reports using Excel or BI tools.
  • Background in project-based financial tracking or public-sector financial environments.

Work Arrangement:
Remote
Job Benefits:
  • Competitive hourly rate compensation range of $85 to $95 an hour based on experience
