Job Summary
Weatherford is seeking a highly motivated and strategically minded Global Product Line Champion - Sand Control to lead the technical, commercial, and operational advancement of our global sand control portfolio. This role serves as the primary global subject matter expert and technology champion for Sand Control products and systems, driving portfolio competitiveness, customer engagement, product commercialization, and technical excellence across all geographic regions. The successful candidate will act as the bridge between customers, regional operations, engineering, manufacturing, and product line leadership to ensure Weatherford remains a market leader in sand control solutions. This position requires a strong combination of technical expertise, commercial acumen, global influence, and strategic vision.
Responsibilities
PRODUCT LINE LEADERSHIP
• Serve as the global technical authority for Weatherford's Sand Control portfolio, including screens, packer and cross over tool assemblies, inflow control devices (ICDs), open-hole isolation technologies, and related completion systems.
• Develop and execute product line strategies aligned with business growth objectives and market opportunities.
• Identify technology gaps, emerging trends, competitive threats, providing recommendations for future product development and portfolio optimization.
• Support product lifecycle management activities, including technology roadmap development, sustaining engineering priorities, rationalization, and end-of-life decisions.
COMMERCIAL GROWTH & CUSTOMER ENGAGEMENT
• Act as a trusted technical advisor for strategic customers, operators, and major tenders globally.
• Support regional sales teams on key opportunities, technology positioning, technical differentiators, and value-based selling.
• Lead customer workshops, advisory boards, technology forums, and executive-level technical presentations.
• Capture Voice of Customer (VOC) feedback and translate market needs into actionable product development initiatives.
TECHNOLOGY COMMERCIALIZATION
• Drive introduction and adoption of new technologies from development through field deployment.
• Support pilot programs, field trials, and first commercial applications.
• Monitor product performance, lessons learned, and customer feedback to continuously improve solutions.
• Collaborate with R&D and Engineering teams to prioritize development efforts that maximize customer value and business returns.
GLOBAL TECHNICAL SUPPORT & APPLICATIONS EXCELLENCE
• Provide advanced technical support for complex projects, tenders, and critical customer applications.
• Ensure consistent technical standards, best practices, design methodologies, and application guidelines across all regions.
• Support risk assessments, technical reviews, failure investigations, and corrective actions involving Sand Control products.
• Partner with Global Applications Engineering teams to improve technical solution development and execution quality.
CROSS-FUNCTIONAL LEADERSHIP
• Influence and coordinate activities across Product Line Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Operations, and Commercial organizations.
• Facilitate alignment between regional business needs and global product strategy.
• Participate in strategic planning activities and provide technical guidance to senior leadership.
TRAINING & CAPABILITY DEVELOPMENT
• Deliver global training programs, technical standards, and competency frameworks for Sand Control technologies.
• Mentor regional applications engineers, product specialists, and field personnel.
• Promote knowledge sharing and technical excellence throughout the organization.
MARKET INTELLIGENCE & COMPETITIVE STRATEGY
• Monitor industry trends, customer requirements, regulatory developments, and emerging technologies.
• Conduct competitive benchmarking and identify opportunities for differentiation.
• Support strategic business planning through market analysis and technology assessments.
Skills/Education Required
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in sand control, completions, well construction, or related oilfield technologies.
• Proven expertise in completion design, sand control systems, and field applications.
• Demonstrated success influencing cross-functional and global teams without direct authority.
• Strong customer-facing, presentation, and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel internationally as required.
Skills/Education Preferred
• Experience leading global product line or technology development initiatives.
• Strong understanding of both compliant and non-compliant sand control systems, completion architectures, and integrated completions solutions.
• Experience managing product commercialization, field trials, and technology launches.
• Advanced engineering degree or MBA.
Travel Requirement:
This role may require domestic and potentially international travel of up to: 10-25%
