What you'll do
Join Henkel's metal packaging business andgain hands-on experience in polymer compounding and sealant development. Thisinternship offers exposure to a wide range of chemistries and sustainableinnovation in a lab-based setting.
  • Work in the cansealants development lab supporting Henkel's metal packaging products
  • Perform physicalproperty testing and compounding of elastomer-based sealants
  • Conduct researchto identify new sustainable, biodegradable, and recyclable polymers for use insealant formulations
  • Gain hands-onexperience with polymer compounding strategies and a broad range of chemistries
  • Use the opportunityto learn and work with various chemistries, see how to bring them together toobtain the required properties
  • Support ongoinglab activities through physical testing and data analysis
  • Collaborate withR&D teams to contribute to product innovation and performance improvements

What makes you a good fit
  • An undergraduate Senior or Graduate student pursuing a degree in Chemistry , Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience withanalytical and physical property testing lab equipment and methodologies
  • Comfortableconducting independent research and drawing conclusions
  • Strong writtenand verbal communication skills
  • Confidentpresenting technical work to large groups and cross-functional teams
  • Ability tointerpret data and connect material properties to formulation outcome

  • This internship is not eligible for a housing stipend or relocation support.
  • This internship has a duration of January 11th - August 13th
  • Recruitment for our 2027 internships starts in September 2026 and runs through early March 2027 or until all our positions are filled

The salary for this role is $22-$27/hour. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range. This salary range may also be modified in the future.
