Reports To: Director of Product and Development

 

Job Description:

Gymreapers is seeking a creative Product Designer to join our product development team. The Product Designer will be a key leader within the product development team, responsible for driving the end-to-end design process for Gymreapers' hardgoods, accessories, and gear categories. This role will own the full product lifecycle ranging from trend research, concept creation, and prototyping to production handoff. The Product Designer will also be responsible for ensuring every product meets the highest standards of performance, durability, aesthetics, and brand alignment.

You will influence product strategy and collaborate closely with sourcing, manufacturing, and marketing teams. You’ll be at the forefront of innovation, shaping the future of Gymreapers' product line to meet the evolving demands of athletes across strength sports, fitness, and training disciplines.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on, solutions-driven designer with a proven track record of bringing products to market, a deep passion for fitness and performance gear, and a strong understanding of manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Design & Development
  • Design and develop new products across:
    • lifting accessories
    • belts
    • straps
    • wraps
    • plate carriers
    • bags
    • recovery products
    • training equipment
  • Create product concepts, sketches, CAD models, and technical specifications
  • Translate athlete feedback and market insights into functional product improvements
  • Develop products balancing:
    • performance
    • durability
    • aesthetics
    • manufacturability
    • cost targets
Technical Design
  • Build detailed tech packs and product specifications
  • Create CAD files, dimensions, construction details, and BOMs
  • Collaborate with factories and sourcing teams on:
    • materials
    • construction methods
    • revisions
    • production feasibility
  • Review prototypes and drive iterative improvements through testing
Product Innovation
  • Research market trends, competitor products, and emerging materials
  • Identify opportunities for innovation across new and existing categories
  • Participate in product ideation and roadmap development
  • Support future category expansion initiatives
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with:
    • Product Development
    • Sourcing
    • Creative
    • Marketing

  • Support product launch readiness including:
    • packaging reviews

Project Management & Timeline Ownership
  • Manage product development timelines from concept through production handoff
  • Track milestones, prototype rounds, approvals, and production readiness
  • Coordinate with internal teams and overseas factories to ensure deadlines are met
  • Proactively identify delays, risks, and material lead times
  • Maintain visibility into development calendars and launch schedules
Qualifications:

2–5 years of experience in:

  • product design
