Job Description:

Responsible for the operation and set-up of the CNC KOMO and computer software.  The KOMO operator coordinates the doors on the conveyors to the CNC. Operator must manually move core from stacks onto machine, run programs, stack core onto off-feed rollers, performing quality checks multiple times per shift.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow established company safety policy & procedure
  • Meet established efficiency, quality and production goals
  • Read production schedule, product codes and batch tickets
  • Must be able to stand for duration of shift.
  • Must be able to reach. Push, pull, twist and turn upper body and occasionally lift 75 pounds.
  • Work overtime including weekends as needed.
  • Detect and report defective and reject materials
  • Continuously monitors the CNC for quality production
  • Coordinates the CNC routers operation to maximize production
  • Perform daily, weekly, monthly preventative maintenance on the CNC
  • Works closely with production lead, core drivers, and group managers
  • Coordinates the order of core lifts through the CNC to meet lay-up department requirements
  • Recognize and prioritize rush and hot batch requirements
  • Adjusts and sets tooling to desired heights and distances
  • Must pass all quality tests and calibrate measuring device daily
  • Keep work area neat and organized during and at end of shift
  • Ensure that we maintain customer specifications on all product

Additional and Marginal Duties:

May be required to work or assist in other areas throughout the facility.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Required:
Safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, safety shoes

Equipment Use:

CNC, tape measure, conveyor and roll case, pneumatic system, electrical system, scissor lift, hand tools, hydraulic systems

Performance Standards:                                                          

Must be able route required number of blanks to maintain at least 100% efficiency while maintaining quality and customer requirements

Hazards:

Sharp tooling, vacuum systems, pneumatic systems, electrical systems, dust, heavy blanks (75 pounds), pinch points

Outline of Process:

The CNC operator is responsible for routing and processing core slabs for assembly in the lay-up department.
