  • Advise product, engineering, and business teams on legal issues throughout the product lifecycle—from ideation to launch and beyond.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including AI (see more detail below), privacy, trade, ESG, and intellectual property.
  • Draft and negotiate commercial, technology, p, and IP agreements affecting Teradata’s products and services.

  • Provide clear, actionable guidance to product teams and translate legal advice into practical business solutions.
  • Develop scalable legal processes, frameworks, playbooks, and documentation that enable product, procurement and global alliances teams to move more efficiently while managing legal risk.
Strategic Business Partner
  • Stay current on industry trends, regulatory developments, and emerging risks in technology and data analytics.
  • Advise on new product directions, market entry, and strategic initiatives.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, prioritize tasks, and work effectively in cross‑functional teams.
  • Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to operate independently with limited supervision, exercise strong judgment in ambiguous situations, and confidently drive issues to resolution across multiple stakeholders.
What You’ll Bring

  • Familiarity with and experience advising on key legal and regulatory frameworks relevant to AI products and systems, as well as general privacy regulations and how they apply to tech products (e.g., GDPR, CPRA, EU AI Act, Open Source).
  • A well‑grounded knowledge of intellectual property law.
  • Sound and practical business judgment in counseling clients and throughout your work.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage a high‑volume workload in a fast‑paced and demanding work environment and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bias and drive for action, learning and problem solving; a service‑focused approach.
  • Collaborative teammate and able to work independently.
