  • Manages all operations in the Produce and Floral Departments, which includes Organic, Conventional, Fresh Prep and indoor & outdoor floral.
  • Ensures adherence to all food safety/HACCP/Sanitation requirements
  • Ensures all product quality, trimming, cutting and packaging specs are consistent, reliable and to company standards
  • Provides and demonstrates excellent hospitality and attitude of service to staff and guests
  • Maintains retail price integrity & accuracy and monitors all aspects of accurate receiving, billing, quantity, quality, grade, food safety, returns & credits
  • Develops and communicates creative & aggressive merchandising plans on a weekly and seasonal basis
  • Hires and trains department employees & writes and oversees department schedules
  • Leads by example
  • Responsible for department sales & labor budget, grosses, and reports
  • Ensures the dissemination of and adherence to all company and department policies
  • Supports and follows all security and safety policies
  • Performs semi-annual employee performance evaluations
  • Supports and follows sustainability programs
  • Writes, sends & works orders; plans promotions; and ensures proper signage on all products
  • Implements and maintains effective inventory management procedures
  • Updates the POS department on price changes
  • Stays current on industry trends, standards and changes
  • Stays current with all training including online training and professional development opportunities
  • Operates within the Company’s Core Values, Company Brand, and Business Principles
  • Maintains department cleanliness, product freshness, & variety

  • Minimum 5 years’ produce/food service and management experience
  • Interest and enthusiasm for cooking/nutrition, floral design and plants/flowers
  • Flexibility to work mornings/afternoons/evenings/weekends/holidays
  • Emphasis on selling and merchandising/creativity
  • Must work towards maximizing total overall market sales
  • Must be able to work with fresh flowers, plants, dried flowers, decorative plants, glue and other floral design products without negative allergic consequences that affect performance
  • Must understand process controls, product flow and quality assurance standards
  • Demonstrates self-discipline and accountability
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships and trust with a diverse group of staff, guests, and vendors
