Job description

PRODUCE ASSOCIATE

Rosewood Market + Deli | Columbia, SC (Shandon) | Full-Time & Part-Time

$15.00 / hour to start

Our produce department is one of the most visible and important parts of Rosewood Market. It's where customers form their first impression when they walk in, and where our commitment to quality is on full display every single day. We need someone who takes that seriously; someone who sees a wilting display and fixes it, who knows what ripe looks like, and who takes pride in a department that looks and feels alive.

If that's you, we'd love to have you on our team.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Stock, rotate, and maintain fresh produce displays to Rosewood's quality standards throughout the day

Cull damaged, overripe, or out-of-spec product and keep the floor looking fresh and inviting

Receive and inspect incoming produce deliveries for quality and accuracy

Assist with proper storage and back stock organization of perishable product

Keep the produce area clean, organized, and properly signed and priced at all times

Help customers find what they're looking for and answer questions about our products

Support the produce team and department leads with daily tasks and priorities

Communicate through company-designated platforms including Homebase and email

Treat every customer and co-worker with courtesy and respect

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

A genuine appreciation for fresh, quality produce and natural foods

Strong attention to detail, you notice what others walk past

Prior produce, grocery, or perishables experience preferred, but we'll train the right person

Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and comfortable working in a cold environment

Dependable, punctual, and available including weekends

A team-first attitude with the initiative to take ownership of your space

Customer-friendly and approachable on the floor

WHAT YOU GET:

$15.00 per hour to start

Paid Time Off

Company Vision and Dental Plans

25% - 50% RWM Employee Discount

No overnight shifts - we close by 8pm Monday-Saturday, 6pm Sunday

A tight-knit team where your work is seen and appreciated

Real room to grow, most of our leads and managers started on the floor

The chance to be part of something that matters: a local, independent market rooted in community and quality since 1972
