Job description

Basic Function
This job's key function is to perform data analysis to provide insights and recommendations to support Gerdau's Procurement processes and practices The role should also continually develop and manage action plans, often acting as a lead to coordinate projects and improvements. The Procurement Systems Analyst will work with minimal supervision from the Improvement and Innovation Manager, developing and managing action plans, generating meaningful metrics, creating accurate, timely and impactful reporting and presenting and deploying strategies to help the organization meet its strategic goals.
Scope:
The Procurement Systems Analyst will be responsible for analysis, recommendations, development and deployment of action plans and process improvements with little need of validation by the Innovation and Improvement Manager. This role is accountable for data stewardship (automation and processes), Power BI (development and routine reporting), regression/statistical modeling and predictive capabilities (development and routine analysis) and work as lead coordinating projects. The Procurement Systems Analyst will be responsible for creating actionable insights, collaboration, predictive analysis, machine learning, data scrapping and recommending specific actions to drive business objectives.
The Procurement Systems Analyst must focus on building strong relationships with internal stakeholders to continuously gather new insights into the procurement process. It is essential to stay updated on the latest advancements in analytics and artificial intelligence and to share this knowledge within the organization.
Abilities and Skills: Openness (both learning and new ideas), goals oriented, time management, self-starter, mental-agility, relationship building, communication skills, presentation skills (for training and taking technical issues and presenting them to business users), strong business acumen, etc. Ability to decipher problems and bring forth solutions to solve those problems.
Will this position require travel?
The Procurement Systems Analyst may be required to travel approximately 2 times per year to visit mills, seminars, trainings and/or attend trade shows and trade association meetings.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Procurement Systems Analyst will perform these duties with minimal management validation:
  • Develop, design, and manage efficient processes, tabular reports, list reports, scorecards, dynamic models, and dashboards that effectively monitor various KPIs and benchmarks.
  • Provide the procurement leadership team with timely and accurate information and analysis, while assisting in the monitoring, evaluation, and improvement of the procurement department's performance and related metrics.
  • Analyze complex data sets from distinct stakeholders to generate data-backed recommendations for procurement strategies
  • Create new ways to deliver information using multiple reporting tools and platforms like Microsoft Fabric (PowerBI and other solutions), Databricks, SAP Datasphere, and AI-enabled solutions like Copilot.
  • Support the long-term vision of the procurement leadership team by proactively implementing business processes, best practices, and leadership to enable organizational transformation.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, finance, data science, data analysis, or a related area
  • 2 - 4 years of experience in business intelligence, data analysis, supply chain analytics or related analytical roles preferred
  • Experience in creating and maintaining automated reporting systems and databases.
  • Analytically focused, and have proven experience developing action plans based on their own analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with other departments and internal customers
  • Experience in planning and performing data analysis projects and processes from start to finish
  • Proficient with Power BI, Databricks, statistical analysis along with common programs (such as PowerPoint, Word and Excel), RPA technology (Robotic Process Automation), online survey tools and syndicated data sources
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure (Logic Apps, Power Automate, Azure Functions) and automation of business processes
  • Time management, critical thinking and problem-solving skills are required
  • Requires proven ability to establish and maintain strong, positive relationships with procurement and operations teams
  • Prior experience with SAP & Ariba preferred
  • Prior knowledge and experience in procurement & manufacturing, steel or steel using industries preferred
