Job description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to support purchasing operations for a Long-term Contract opportunity based in Irving, Texas. This role will coordinate ordering activity, maintain accurate procurement records, and work closely with internal departments and suppliers to keep materials and services moving efficiently. The position offers a hybrid schedule and is well suited for someone who can balance accuracy, communication, and follow-through in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
• Review internal purchasing requests and prepare purchase orders with a high level of accuracy and timeliness.
• Guide suppliers through onboarding steps, collecting required documentation and confirming adherence to procurement standards.
• Monitor open orders, follow up on shipment schedules, and resolve issues involving delays, missing items, or order discrepancies.
• Collaborate with teams across HR, Operations, and Finance to align purchasing activity with business needs and budget considerations.
• Organize procurement files, supplier information, and contract records to support compliance and audit preparedness.
• Help assess vendor performance by tracking service levels, identifying concerns, and supporting ongoing supplier reviews.
• Contribute to initiatives that improve purchasing efficiency, strengthen process consistency, and support cost-conscious decision-making.• At least 2 years of experience in procurement, supply chain support, purchasing coordination, or a related administrative role.
• Demonstrated ability to manage purchase orders and support day-to-day buying processes in a structured business environment.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to keep records accurate and tasks organized.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to build productive working relationships internally and with external vendors.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience using procurement or ERP systems is preferred.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt in a busy work setting.
• Familiarity with corporate procurement practices and exposure to contract negotiations is a plus.
