Job description

EPI Power is hiring an Electrical Procurement Manager (Senior Electrical Procurement Engineer). This Engineer is responsible for overseeing the purchasing of materials for the Cedar Rapids, IA project site. This role orders materials and services, monitors delivery status, and facilitates communication between the project team and suppliers.


This role requires the ability to work 6 days per week, Monday - Saturday (58 hours per week).

What You'll Do:

  • Review and prepare technical documentation, requests for quote (RFQ) packages, quote solicitations/evaluations and procurement of goods and services documents
  • Initiate and manage purchase orders, evaluate project schedule, and align delivery of materials accordingly
  • Participate in the specification review, bid preparation, submittal review, and quote solicitation process to include developing supplier work statements, soliciting proposals, and negotiating costs
  • Collaborate with logistics team members to ensure timely arrival of materials
  • Track incorrect or late orders and expedite as needed
  • Resolve payment and/or material discrepancies; track and obtain refund if necessary
  • Monitor supplier performance and ensure contract obligations are met; identify new suppliers as needed
  • Issue and maintain department reports
  • Assist with material inspection, factory testing, and coordination of meetings
  • Mentor team members on engineering responsibilities including specification review, project scope, procurement requirements, and negotiation methods

    • 7+ years of experience in a procurement function in a construction related industry

    • Understanding of material work planning and engineering methods in conjunction with purchasing requirements
    • Excellent negotiation skills for negotiating cost and contract terms

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Technology:
