Procurement Packaging Specialist

Regular Full-Time Indirect

Salary Range: $80,000.00 To $90,000.00 Annually

Position Summary

The Procurement Packaging Specialist is responsible for sourcing and managing packaging materials to support manufacturing and operations at Liberty Tire Recycling, with a heavy focus on their IMC Outdoor Living division. This role partners with Operations, Marketing, and suppliers to ensure packaging solutions meet quality, service, and cost objectives while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Source packaging materials including corrugated products, stretch film, shrink wrap, pallets, labels, bags, liners, and related supplies.
  • Manage supplier relationships and support contract negotiations.
  • Execute RFQs, supplier bids, and pricing analyses.
  • Identify cost savings and process improvement opportunities.
  • Monitor supplier performance for quality, delivery, and service.
  • Partner with Operations and Marketing on packaging changes and new product introductions.
  • Track market trends affecting packaging costs and availability.
  • Maintain supplier contracts and procurement documentation.
  • Assist with sustainability and packaging optimization initiatives.
  • Support Procurement with special projects and category reporting.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Packaging, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of procurement, sourcing, or purchasing experience.
  • Experience purchasing packaging materials in a manufacturing or distribution environment preferred.
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with Excel and ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in manufacturing, recycling, industrial, or consumer products.
  • Knowledge of packaging materials and supplier management.
  • CPSM, APICS, or Lean certification is a plus.
  • Travel Requirement: 10–20% (primarily in St. Louis, MO)
