Procurement Manager

Houston/Hybrid

ContourGlobal, a KKR company, is an established Independent Power Producer (IPP) focused on developing, acquiring, and operating electricity generation and storage assets across Europe, North and South America, with a presence in Africa and Asia. The company currently manages 6 GW of installed capacity across multiple technologies and asset classes, with an additional 1.3 MW of renewables under construction and nearly 12 GW under development.

Job Summary

As a Procurement Manager, you will join our Procurement team, reporting to the Head of Procurement Operating Assets. You will lead regional procurement governance, performance, and planning while partnering closely with Operations and Strategic Procurement to drive procurement excellence and deliver sustainable value across the business.

Key Responsibilities Governance & Planning
  • Ensure all assets maintain accurate, monthly updated Procurement Plans.
  • Validate procurement scope, value, timing, and contract visibility.
  • Ensure Procurement Plans receive the required approvals from Plant Managers, Finance, and other relevant stakeholders.
Operational Oversight
  • Oversee regional procurement activities and ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and governance standards.
  • Lead complex procurements and mid‑value negotiations (USD 50,000 to USD 100,000) in partnership with Operations.
  • Ensure the appropriate use of framework agreements and adherence to procurement thresholds.
Strategic Alignment
  • Identify strategic sourcing opportunities and engage Strategic Procurement where value can be created.
  • Ensure early involvement of Strategic Procurement for high‑value, critical, or cross‑regional sourcing initiatives.
  • Align regional procurement activities with enterprise category strategies and procurement frameworks.
Performance Management
  • Monitor key procurement performance indicators, including cycle time, Procurement Plan accuracy, and supplier performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement in procurement efficiency, cost optimization, and planning discipline.
Stakeholder & Escalation Management
  • Serve as the primary procurement partner for regional leadership, Finance, and key business stakeholders.
  • Manage procurement escalations and facilitate resolution of complex or cross‑functional issues.
  • Foster alignment between Operations, Strategic Procurement, and other business stakeholders.
Key Outcomes
  • Deliver strong regional procurement performance across cost, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date Procurement Plans across all assigned assets.
  • Build effective partnerships between Operations and Strategic Procurement to ensure the right sourcing approach for each initiative.
  • Identify and elevate strategic sourcing and value creation opportunities.
  • Drive supplier performance and continuous improvement across the region.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: 7‑10 years of procurement or operations management within the thermal and/or renewable energy industry, including regional or multi‑entity procurement operations.
  • Skills: strong understanding of procurement governance, sourcing, and procurement processes; experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP); professional proficiency in English.
  • Travel requirements: Ability to travel based on business needs.
