Support service employees assist entrepreneurs in achieving their dreams through finance, accounting, IT, and other back-office operations.

Job Description

Winsupply Sourcing Services (WSS) operates ~3.5 million square feet of wholesaling warehouse space, while offering inventory and vendor management solutions, to be the premier vendor partner for our customer base.  

Our customer base consists of aspiring entrepreneurs who own and operate their own wholesale distribution businesses, now over 670 businesses nationwide.  Therefore, this job provides the opportunity to have a direct impact in the success of entrepreneurial small businesses across the United States, and in particular, those that rely on WSS to improve their financial performance.  WSS transacts with vendors and customers nearly three quarters of a million times in a given fiscal year.  In this role, you will lead a team responsible for ensuring WSS is regularly stocked with efficiently and effectively turning inventory our local company (LC) customers demand.

Accountabilities/Responsibilities

Team Oversight and Leadership

  • Understand job responsibilities, advocate for, and lead/mentor Procurement and Support Specialists
  • Monitor team responsibilities; oversee and manage to team metrics to maintain vendor line performance
  • Leverage WSS team knowledge and understanding, as well as professional resources, to ensure employees are adequately trained; build team expertise on forecasting software and product mix
  • Develop action plans with employees to correct metrics not meeting expectations
  • Administer performance management system, including metric recordkeeping, monthly 1:1’s, annual reviews, Trakstar system, promotion and bonus recommendations, performance improvement plans, etc.
  • Identify, bring forth, and implement process improvements; lead and deliver strategic projects

Cross-Functional Collaboration, Accountability, and Service

  • Collaborate directly with Vendor Relations team to support launch of new, profitable product lines, as well as removal of non-performing, non-profitable lines; build knowledge on WISE system in order to effectuate
  • React to Local Company feedback, either directly or via WSS Business Development, to support growth and incremental demand on distribution centers; develop proactive, customer communication plans
  • Balance growth opportunities with accountability, to both customers and sales team, as well as expectations of senior leadership in terms of distribution center inventory performance (turns / fill rates)

Partnerships and Relationships

  • Build and leverage strategic relationships with vendors, customers, and other internal Sourcing teams to represent Sourcing Procurement, lead with influence, master the matrix, and communicate in all directions
  • Address partner feedback promptly, with emphasis on our responsibility to help; address root-cause issues

Other Duties as Assigned, including travel as necessary

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • B.S./B.A. in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field. In lieu of degree, relevant experience considered.
  • Purchasing, inventory management, and leadership experienced required.

  • Experience in wholesale industry.
