The Opportunity

The Associate, Operations supports the Director, Operations in implementing CEO's operations strategy across CEO's thirty-one offices nationally, working in close partnership with program and central operational teams. They provide facilities, operations, and safety support to on-site staff and ensure CEO's offices provide a safe, welcoming, and operationally smooth experience for CEO participants.

The Center for Employment Opportunities (CEO) provides employment services to people recently released from incarceration. Across the United States, 8,000-9,000 people participate in CEO each year, transitioning to employment that supports themselves, their families, and their communities.

What began as a demonstration project of the Vera Institute of Justice in the 1970s to address employment barriers facing the formerly incarcerated following release in New York City has grown into the leading reentry employment organization in the country, where over 30,000 formerly incarcerated individuals have secured full-time employment since 1996.

Who You Are

  • You have 2+ years of experience in organizational operations or administrative support You have some understanding of operational standards, policies, best practices, metrics, and processes
  • You are knowledgeable with technology, including Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, and project management tools.
  • You have the able to travel to other sites as needed

  • You are an effective multitasker capable of staying organized and meeting deadlines with accuracy in a fast-paced environment
  • You have excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; ability to collaborate with multiple constituencies and departments

  • You are customer service oriented: design and plan with the staff and participants in mind
  • You are open to balancing and executing on feedback from a variety of collaborators

What You'll Be Responsible For

Key responsibilities of the Associate, Operations  include but are not limited to:

Operations, Facilities, and Safety Administration

  • Implement organizational operational processes and coordination across CEO's sites/facilities across the country, ensuring sites are designed in a way that supports program needs 
  • Partner with local sites and centralized teams to implement operational processes that promote a best in class, safe, collaborative, accessible and inclusive workplace environment where employees and CEO participants can thrive. This involves but not limited to:
    • Gathering data, generating reports, and conducting analysis to ensure that staff and participant feedback inform site operational processes & management
    • Supporting sites in implementing standardized safety protocols for a safe work environment 
    • Supporting sites in implementing facilities processes that prepare sites for natural disasters and other emergencies
    • In collaboration with HR, supporting sites in achieving compliance with different HR and safety laws and regulations
  • Support projects related to expansion, relocation, renovation, etc. of offices
  • Support maintenance programs relating to the condition and appearance of the interior & exterior of all facilities
  • Partner with CEO's compliance team to support in improving facilities processes and procedures, serving as program liaison to ensure sites are following all facilities-related laws and regulations
  • Support processes and systems that enhance collaboration between program sites and support teams, streamlining operations throughout the organization
  • Support CEO's purchasing operations and performing other procurement and inventory management duties as required
  • Conduct or support office inspections, safety training, incident investigations, emergency response plan management, and other facilities safety initiatives
  • Effectively manage the general CEO inquiries inbox
  • Collaborate with Social Enterprise and Central Teams to support program sites with records management needs related to safety and other compliance requirements
  • Support participant scheduling processes and time and attendance protocols as needed

Team Support

  • Serve as an active and proactive contributor and collaborator of the larger Operations and Program Advancement team, including leading/engaging in team meetings, participating in retreats and data analyses that drive strategy revamps, and supporting colleague projects
  • Contribute to efforts to standardize site operations across locations, balancing consistency with local flexibility.
  • Support special projects on an as needed basis
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

Compensation and Benefits  

The salary range for this position is $55,700.00 - $69,000.00 /annually. CEO's compensation philosophy considers a variety of factors including experience, internal equity, and the labor market associated with the city in which the position is located. This position can be located in any of the cities in which CEO operates. The labor markets associated with the cities in which CEO is based are variable, and the salary range included here reflects this. Our salary offer will fall within this range and will be reflective of the labor market of the city in which the position is based, as well the other factors named above. 

We recognize that salary is a part of the overall compensation package and also provide a comprehensive benefits package, including medical and dental coverage, as well as professional development opportunities to our staff.
