JOB TITLE
IT Procurement & Strategic Sourcing Associate
OVERVIEW / SUMMARY
The IT Procurement & Strategic Sourcing Associate will be responsible for leading and executing procurement strategies for Information Technology hardware, software, and services. This role involves managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, identifying cost-saving opportunities, ensuring compliance with procurement policies, and collaborating with internal departments to meet business needs.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong negotiation skills, a foundational understanding of indirect spend categories, and experience supporting or managing procurement and strategic sourcing processes within a team environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive sourcing strategies for Information Technology products and services across business units.
• Identify and achieve value creation and cost-saving opportunities, including redundancy reduction and tail-spend control.
• Report key performance indicators and sourcing results to senior leadership.
• Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with internal business partners to understand requirements and ensure alignment.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers, manage supplier performance against KPIs, conduct business reviews, and drive continuous improvement.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of buyers and support coordination with global purchasing partners.
• Provide guidance, establish clear performance objectives, manage workload distribution, and foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
• Lead and execute complex strategic sourcing initiatives and negotiations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• 0-3 years of experience in Supply Chain, Commodity Management, or Program Management, preferably within the automotive industry.
• Strong leadership, purchasing, and contract negotiation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across all levels of an organization and translate detailed information into clear, concise executive summaries.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and present insights clearly to various audiences.
• Foundational knowledge of Information Technology categories, including hardware, software, and IT services.
• Experience leading and successfully executing complex strategic sourcing initiatives and negotiations.
• Highly adaptable and resourceful, with the ability to manage changing priorities and thrive in ambiguous environments.
• Recent graduates with 2-3 years of IT experience and a strong interest in receiving training in this area may also be considered.
