Job description

Eaton's ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Materials Supervisor in Sumter, SC. We are offering relocation assistance for candidates that reside within the U.S.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $97000 - $143000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
What you'll do:
The Materials Supervisor ensures the Supply Chain Team has the information and materials available to provide the highest customer service possible; recognizing the need to collaborate with other departments to gather information to use to make decisions that balance the costs of inventory and freight. This role is responsible for ensuring team metrics are attained regarding supplier performance and will ensure effective procurement of components and raw material is performed using tools available to fullest capacity to best manage inventory levels and perpetual accuracy.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Drive Materials improvements internally through BOC of supply chain team and externally via implementation and support of Lean processes to enhance reliability and delivery of goods sold, inventory accuracy, and item analysis.
• Monitor purchased part inventory transactions, to seek improvement.
• Obtain information from SIOP for material planning and forecasting purposes.
• Evaluate effectiveness of existing procedures and/or activities performed within the Supply Chain functions to recommend areas of improvement.
• Proficient in ERP procurement planning system, supplemented by Lean methodology.
• Analyze ERP reports for execution; Maintain planning parameters in MAPICs.
• Adheres to standard processes for the department as established by site leadership and/or divisional strategies.
• Owns buyer's performance like PO Placement, Managing expedite/de-expedite, Inventory, shortage's, premium freight's, Invoice resolution, Past Due reduction etc.,
• Improve automated processes to maximize the flow of information and material in support of plant manufacturing goals
• Provide coaching, motivation, and counseling to employees to encourage optimum performance and continued skill development. Effectively plan and manage the organization and utilization of people, technology and materials to achieve continuous improvement in departmental performance.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution OR high school diploma with minimum 5 years of experience in Materials Planning or Supply Chain Management
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, or a combination of those functions

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business or administrations an accredited institution
  • 1+ year experience managing people and/or project teams.
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems.
  • Experience with Eaton systems: Vista, Bid Manager, Panelboard Allocation System, Plant Order Manager, Mentor, OMS and AS400.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing management or operational excellence
  • Lean Manufacturing background experience
  • Comprehensive skills with entire MS Office Package
  • Extensive Infor (or similar ERP system) planning expertise
