Job description

Shipping Coordinator

Alsip, IL

Compensation Includes:

  • Starting Pay Rate of $24-25/hour

Overview

This position will be responsible and accountable for shipping and receiving activity, and necessary administration of material traffic. This position requires daily interaction with truck drivers, corporate procurement, as well as liaising between other plant’s personnel. Good organizational skills and accuracy are required to ensure proper accounting of materials.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and facilitate all shipping and receiving of finished goods, raw material, and other miscellaneous items
  • Complete necessary data entry shipping portals to properly account for material movements
  • Work in conjunction with Production personnel to maintain shipments and avoid shipping delays
  • Communicate with Production and Management in coordinating shipping responsibilities
  • Oversee placement of incoming trucks. Interact with Truck Drivers accordingly and provide instructions and direction to them
  • Liaise with Corporate procurement on incoming/Outgoing scheduling of deliveries
  • Liaise with other plant mgmt. on material deliveries and schedule departures
  • Ensure assigned work area is kept clean and organized
  • Ensure proper supplies are kept for the facility while keeping costs to a minimum
  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years experience in a distribution center, traffic, or a warehouse environment is needed
  • Strong math skills and a basic knowledge of computers
  • Excellent communication skills required
  • Strong Organization skills are necessary
