Job Type: Senior-Level Contract
Contract Dates: August 31, 2026-February 27, 2027
Schedule: 40 hours per week
Pay Range: $74.38-$106.23 per hour
Location: Austin, Texas
Work Arrangement: Hybrid, two to three days per week in the office
Experience Required: 6-12 years


Position Summary

Our client is seeking a seasoned and hands-on Employee Relations Partner to join its global People Operations team. This position will coordinate HR automation initiatives while leading compliance, documentation, governance, and cross-functional project deliverables.

The Employee Relations Partner will develop and implement frameworks that promote consistency, efficiency, and compliance across global HR operations. This individual will also serve as a key liaison between People Operations and partners in Information Technology, Legal, Privacy, Security, Payroll, Finance, and Total Rewards.

The successful candidate will translate People Operations needs into clear business requirements and work with technology teams to deliver scalable, AI-enabled solutions that improve operational efficiency and create frictionless employee experiences.

This is a contingent contract position.

Key ResponsibilitiesAutomation and Process Enablement
  • Coordinate with global People Operations teams to identify processes that can be streamlined, standardized, or automated.
  • Review existing workflows and recommend practical future-state improvements.
  • Facilitate workshops to document processes and design more efficient operating models.
  • Translate business needs into clear functional and technical requirements.
  • Partner with IT teams to implement scalable, AI-enabled automation solutions.
  • Improve employee experiences by reducing manual work, delays, and unnecessary process complexity.
Compliance and Documentation
  • Serve as the initial point of contact and ongoing lead for relevant HR audits and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate People Operations resources to respond to compliance reviews and documentation requests.
  • Maintain clear, accurate, and comprehensive process and knowledge documentation.
  • Support compliance throughout the global employee lifecycle, from hiring through separation.
  • Identify operational or compliance risks and help develop corrective actions.
  • Ensure HR processes and policies are documented and applied consistently.
Frameworks and Governance
  • Develop standardized ways of working across the People Operations organization.
  • Partner with Centers of Excellence and People Operations leaders to implement improved processes.
  • Establish governance practices that support compliance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Create process guides, operating procedures, and knowledge-management resources.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of new processes and recommend ongoing improvements.
Systems and Operations Support
  • Serve as a primary People Operations contact for enterprise technology teams.
  • Support the review, improvement, and administration of Workday business processes.
  • Work with case-management platforms such as Zendesk, Jira, ServiceNow, or similar systems.
  • Evaluate AI and automation tools that may improve HR service delivery.
  • Coordinate People Operations and Total Rewards technology priorities.
  • Use industry benchmarks and internal data to identify opportunities for digital transformation.
Cross-Functional Partnership
  • Build strong working relationships with IT, Legal, Privacy, Security, Payroll, Finance, Total Rewards, and other business functions.
  • Represent People Operations in cross-functional projects and planning discussions.
  • Ensure People Operations is involved early in initiatives that may affect employees, policies, systems, or compliance.
  • Translate cross-functional decisions into clear requirements and actions for People Operations teams.
  • Coordinate project stakeholders, timelines, dependencies, and deliverables.
  • Proactively identify challenges and recommend practical solutions.
Required Qualifications
  • At least five years of experience in Human Resources, People Operations, employee relations, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of global hire-to-retire processes.
  • Experience supporting HR compliance, audits, policy management, or operational governance.
  • Broad knowledge of HR programs, employment practices, and employee lifecycle processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to review, redesign, and streamline complex workflows.
  • Experience using technology, automation, or AI to improve HR processes.
  • Working knowledge of Workday business processes.
  • Experience with case-management tools such as Zendesk, Jira, ServiceNow, or comparable platforms.
  • Strong spreadsheet and data-analysis skills to support business decisions.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting People Operations across multiple countries or regions.
  • Experience partnering with Legal, Privacy, Security, Payroll, Finance, IT, or Total Rewards teams.
  • Familiarity with AI and automation platforms such as OpenCode, Apps Script, NotebookLM, Codex, Claude Code, or similar tools.
  • Experience developing HR governance frameworks and process documentation.
  • Previous experience within a technology, SaaS, or high-growth organization.
