Job description

Introduction

We're looking for a motivated college student to join our team as a Procurement Intern. This is a dynamic, hands-on opportunity to explore the many facets of procurement. You'll work alongside experienced professionals and contribute to real projects that impact our business. This is a 3 month internship.

Your role and responsibilities

This internship is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, analyzing data, and collaborating across teams. You'll gain exposure to various areas such as:

  • Strategic Sourcing & Buying - Conduct vendor negotiations and selection.
  • Risk Management - Help identify and mitigate supply chain risks.
  • Process Improvement - Analyze workflows and suggest efficiencies.
  • Data Analysis - Use tools to uncover insights and support decision-making.
  • Supplier Onboarding - Assist in vetting and integrating new suppliers.
  • Accounts Payable Support - Collaborate with finance to ensure smooth transactions.
  • Federal Operations - Learn about compliance and government contracting.
  • Client-Facing Consulting - Participate in cross-functional projects with external stakeholders.

Required technical and professional expertise

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program (Business, Supply Chain, Economics, Finance, Data Science, or related field preferred).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience leveraging AI tools with an AI-first mindset.
  • Eagerness to learn and contribute in a fast-paced environment.

OTHER RELEVANT JOB DETAILS

Supplemental 1 employees may be eligible for up to 8 paid holidays, minimum of 56 hours paid sick time and the IBM Employee Stock Purchase Plan. IBM offers paid family medical leave and disability benefits to eligible employees where required by applicable law.

For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
