About the Company

Our client is a well-established and highly respected mechanical contractor with a long-standing reputation for delivering complex mechanical systems for some of the Southeast's most recognizable commercial and industrial projects.

The company specializes in everything from focused mechanical installations to large-scale, technically demanding projects valued up to $100 million. With a culture built around quality craftsmanship, long-term client relationships, and employee development, they continue to grow by consistently delivering projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.

Due to continued expansion and a strong backlog of work, the company is seeking experienced Project Managers across multiple Southeastern markets.

About the Position

The Project Manager is responsible for leading mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through final closeout. This individual will oversee project planning, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, financial performance, client communication, and field coordination while ensuring projects are completed safely, profitably, and to the highest quality standards.

This role serves as the primary point of contact for owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal project teams, while providing leadership and mentorship to Assistant Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, and field personnel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of the project lifecycle from preconstruction through final closeout.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, labor forecasts, procurement plans, and overall project profitability.
  • Monitor cost-to-complete forecasts and maintain accountability for financial performance.
  • Negotiate and administer subcontracts and major equipment/material purchases.
  • Lead the RFI, submittal, and change order process.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports, cost projections, and progress updates for both internal leadership and clients.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, owners, and trade partners to resolve design and construction issues.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules using industry-standard scheduling software while facilitating pull-planning sessions.
  • Coordinate equipment, material deliveries, and logistics to maximize efficiency.
  • Ensure all permitting and code compliance requirements are satisfied.
  • Supervise and mentor Superintendents, Foremen, Assistant Project Managers, and field teams.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships that drive repeat business opportunities.
  • Partner with Safety leadership to maintain exceptional jobsite safety performance.
  • Oversee project closeout activities including as-built drawings, O&M manuals, owner training, punch lists, and warranty documentation.
  • Identify future project opportunities and support ongoing business development efforts.

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of Project Management experience within commercial mechanical construction.
  • Demonstrated success managing project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and client relationships.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical construction systems and project delivery methods.
  • OSHA 10 certification required; OSHA 30 preferred.
  • Experience with construction management and scheduling software, including:
