Titan Security is currently hiring Scalehouse Operators & Document Processors in the Coshocton, Ohio Area.
A Scale house Operator typically may manage the weight measurements of vehicles that enter or exit the premises and ensure proper documentation for a warehouse. The role involves both administrative and customer service duties in a manufacturing setting.
Here are the key duties of a Scalehouse Operator:
Weighing Vehicles
  • Ensure that vehicles (trucks, cars, or containers) are properly weighed upon entry and exit.
  • Operate and maintain the scale system to accurately measure the weight of vehicles and their contents.
  • Record vehicle weights and compare them to required limits (if applicable).

Data Entry and Record Keeping
  • Enter weight data and vehicle information into the system or logbook.
  • Ensure all entries are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Generate reports on weight records, receipts, and transaction details for management.

Customer Service
  • Greet drivers as they arrive at the facility.
  • Assist drivers in completing necessary paperwork for their loads (e.g., waste disposal, recycling).
  • Answer questions regarding scale usage, facility procedures, and weight limits.
  • Provide instructions for unloading or loading if necessary

Ensuring Compliance
  • Verify that the weights of vehicles meet legal or company standards.
  • Check that all documentation and permits are correct and valid (e.g., disposal permits, load tickets).
  • Enforce safety regulations to ensure vehicles are safe to weigh and travel.

Operating Scale Software
  • Use scale management software to monitor and track incoming and outgoing loads.
  • Troubleshoot minor issues with the scale or system and report problems to technical staff if needed.
  • Process payment for services (if applicable), such as waste disposal or material purchases.

Monitoring Facility Access
  • Ensure that only authorized vehicles enter or exit the facility.
  • Control access to the site by verifying drivers' identification and load information.

Safety and Maintenance
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, both inside the scalehouse and around the scales.
  • Perform minor maintenance tasks on the scale equipment and report major issues for repair.
  • Ensure that scales are calibrated and functioning accurately.

Reporting and Documentation
  • Prepare daily, weekly, or monthly reports on weighbridge activities.
  • Track and report any discrepancies in weight data or irregularities in vehicle loads.
  • File and organize weigh tickets and records for future reference or audits.

Communication
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, supervisors, and other team members to coordinate operations.
  • Provide feedback to management regarding scalehouse performance, traffic patterns, or potential issues.

Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Able to pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
  • Previous experience in security is preferred
