Job description


Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Sterile Processing Tech  at CHI St Vincent, you’ll help our team oversee the sterilization and cleaning of medical equipment, instruments or supplies in a sterile processing environment.

To be a successful sterile processing technician, you should be meticulous with strong attention to detail. You should have a good working knowledge of a variety of sterilization techniques and be able to work with fragile equipment.

  • Monitor and operate sterilization equipment
  • Examine supplies meticulously to ensure they are properly cleaned and sanitized
  • Test and report any issues or problems with the sterilization equipment
  • Sterilize, prepare, wrap and organize equipment into instrument trays for use during medical procedures
  • Prepare and deliver all necessary equipment and instruments for surgeries, examinations, medical procedures and medical carts
  • Maintain records of sterilization procedures, sterilized items, equipment maintenance and supplies

  • Other Metropolitan test or equivalent, upon hire


Preferred

  • Certified and Registered Central Service Technician, upon hire or
