Schedule:
- Monday–Friday: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Weekends: As needed by unit
Type: Full-time, Agency
Core Responsibilities
- Clean, disinfect=, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment
- Operate sterilization tools (steam, gas plasma, peracetic acid)
- Monitor sterilizer performance (mechanical, biological, chemical)
- Assemble and wrap instrument trays with proper indicators
- Maintain inventory and distribute supplies across hospital units
- Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and hospital policies
- Support OR staff and troubleshoot intra-operative sterile processing issues
- Train new staff and participate in departmental education
Requirements
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of an accredited sterile processing program
Certifications (Required at hire):
- CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician)
- OR CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician)
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year in sterile processing (hospital or outpatient setting)
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of surgical instruments and sterilization protocols
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
