This is aย Permanent Part-Timeย position withย 40 hours bi-weekly.

What Youโ€™ll Be Doing:

Reporting to the Executive Chef, the Dining Room Server is accountable to support all aspects of hospitality style dining room service to meet the needs of the Residents in accordance with legislative requirements and organization standards.

  • Responsible for all aspects of hospitality style dining service utilizing the Ready, Set, Serve Program as it applies to the serving areas, setting, serving and cleaning tables;
  • Assists with the preparation and presentation of food under the direction of the Chef;
  • Practices and maintains established standards for cleanliness and sanitation throughout all aspects of food preparation and service as required by the health department;
  • Promotes and tracks a la carte and wine service sales in accordance with prescribed procedures;
  • Complies with all provincial regulations, established food and beverage department policies and procedures and ORCA standards to ensure the department is tour ready;
  • Participates in drills to prepare for emergencies and attends all education sessions in relation to emergency preparedness.
  • Work in accordance with the organizationโ€™s Health and Safety Policies and Procedures and in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act

What you need to know:

  • Must have Serve It Right Certificate, or willing to obtain within 30 days of hire;
  • Must have Food Safe Certificate, or willing to obtain within 30 days of hire;
  • 1 year experience in dining room service;
  • Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team;
  • Experience working with seniors and knowledge of the aging process an asset;
  • Proven customer service skills to work with residents of various cultural backgrounds
  • Effective verbal and written English communication skills required
