The Basics

Location: Cherryvale, KS

Compensation: $17.00/hr and up

Days/Hours: This job will be mostly day hours, with some overtime, including evenings and weekends as needed. 

Equipment Used: Brooms, hoses, vacuums, skid loader, forklift, scissor lift, air wands, shovels and other hand tools.

What you’ll be doing:

The duties of this hands-on job will include cleaning various areas at the plant, including, but not limited to the inside and outside of the following areas:

  • grain receiving
  • storage bins
  • oil loading
  • preparation
  • extraction
  • refinery

Common activities will include:

  • sweeping
  • shoveling
  • using compressed air to blow down
  • trash removal
  • assisting with routine facility maintenance

Sanitation Specialists will be cross trained to perform a variety of tasks to support the overall operation of the plant

Requirements to be successful in this position:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Reliable transportation
  • For safety reasons, must be able to read, write, understand and follow written and/or verbal instructions in English
  • Available to work overtime and weekends
  • Professional demeanor (safety conscious, quality of job performance, cleanliness, and verbal communications)
  • Able to pass a criminal background check

  • You will be expected to be able to work in tight and confined spaces
  • You will work at heights
  • You will need the ability to frequently lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds and occasionally more
