Summary/Objective
The Maintenance Technician is part of our maintenance team that will be performing both the daily support and troubleshooting of process equipment as well as the execution of the preventative/ predictive maintenance activities for all equipment in our clean pharma manufacturing facility. Primary responsibilities will focus on thorough understanding and support of the various forms of processing and manufacturing equipment with a commitment to continuous learning.
Essential Functions / Four Most Important TasksReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  1. Performs preventative/ predictive maintenance and calibration on production equipment. This includes planning activities to be performed, scheduling manpower and/or contractors as required. Works with key suppliers to identify, source and procure spare parts as required to keep equipment operating and to ensure that required materials are present for planned maintenance and service work. Identifies and suggests opportunities for improvement as they relate to infrastructure.
  2. Supports production through equipment on call maintenance and upkeep for the general facility. Works with area engineers to identify and maintain the subsystems that enable production to keep process equipment operating on time and in full. Executes work orders through SAP as required.
  3. Performs preventive maintenance action items in accordance with the predictive/preventive maintenance plans to ensure production lines are able to produce on time and in full. Follows up on equipment performance, suggests and introduces improvements. Participates in the development and upgrade of maintenance procedures as needed. Identifies, sets up and monitors the consumption and usage of critical spares with awareness of inventory flow and overall budget. Oversees contractor work on site.
  4. Support equipment through hands on work and SAP work orders. Involved in the generation of maintenance procedures. Effective management and execution of contract work.

Responsibilities
  • Follows up on equipment performance, suggests and introduces improvements. Participates in the development and upgrade of maintenance procedures as needed.
  • Identifies, sets up and monitors the consumption and usage of critical spares with awareness of inventory flow and overall budget.
  • Monitor equipment capability to ensure machines are functioning in accordance with parameters
  • Trouble-shoots minor problems on production equipment.
  • Monitor the preventive maintenance schedules in order to minimize machine down time.
  • Lead problem-solving sessions to determine root cause of problem; recommend corrective action
  • Utilizes appropriate tools for minor maintenance and equipment set-ups
  • Ensure a smooth transition between shifts which may require extended hours or flexible shifts
  • Adheres to all safety rules in accordance with SOP's, GMP as well as federal, state and local safety regulations. Expected to demonstrate our Company values and Code of
  • Regular attendance and punctuality required in order to meet production needs of customers. Willingness to work in shifts (late or early hours, weekends, and overtime if necessary)

Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position does not have supervisory responsibility.
Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to elements including environmental heat and high heat from moving mechanical parts, small parts may be encountered on the floor, and dust particles may float in the air. Work is done in both office space and in the plant where safety is a critical concern. PPE must be worn.

The Maintenance Technician must stand for prolonged periods of time, lift up to 50 lbs, carry, push, and pull up to 30 lbs and gripping of 20 lbs. Technicians will experience substantial movements (motions) of arms, hands, wrists, and/or fingers. Technicians must pass a vison test (with or without corrective lenses) as all work involves sharpness of different types as well as depth perception, color and field. Must wear proper personal protective equipment to include but not limited to gloves, hair net, beard cover, safety glasses, gowning, etc.
