This position reports to:
EL Americas Factory Excellence Leader
Your role and responsibilities:
In this role, you will have the opportunity to support the organization's vision and strategic direction. Each day, you will define, manage, and monitor processes to meet requirements for Information Systems (IS) services by planning, measuring, and improving all aspects of IS services. You will also showcase your expertise by being a key resource, a definitive source of knowledge processes, to contribute to enhancing organizational effectiveness.
This person will apply strong IS infrastructure technology knowledge and expertise to support infrastructure activity within all IS process domains. Support large manufacturing, warehouse and or office environments including PC Hardware, Software, Applications, VOIP, Peripherals, and help with manufacturing equipment. Provide support, troubleshooting, and problem resolution for end users and support teams.
The work model for the role is onsite in our Pinetops, NC manufacturing facility (#LI-Onsite).
You will be mainly accountable for:
  • PC Lifecycle Support: Provide hardware and software support including break/fix, imaging, inventory, post build set up, new user set up, and peripheral installation.
  • Configure and manage MFPs and printing solutions including large MFP devices (Xerox, Sharp), Label Printers (Zebra), and small use laser printers (HP).
  • Ensure Manufacturing Excellence: Supports manufacturing environment, support technologies required for continued business operations including required off-hour support and on call rotation.
  • Supports the installation of new IS solutions/services in regards of the required infrastructure, or the changing of existing IS solutions/services. When involved, delivers the appropriate IS solution/service infrastructure in time, in budget and at quality.
  • People leadership and Development: Provides leadership to temporary work teams, guiding and monitoring task completion, sharing expert knowledge and advice normally without carrying line responsibility.
  • May require lifting and installation of network equipment (less than 40 pounds).
  • May require the user of Scissor Lift or ladders to install network / cables.
  • May require working Saturdays with previous coordination.

Qualifications for the role:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field; background in Automation, Electronics, or IT is a plus.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an enterprise End User support role, with proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and hands-on Windows 11 support experience.
  • Solid understanding of networking topology, concepts, and server infrastructure, combined with experience in programming or scripting within an IT environment.
  • Experience with manufacturing processes, procedures, and factory IT environments, including label printing software such as Bartender, Loftware, or NiceLabel; familiarity with LabView is a plus.
  • Strong sense of personal accountability, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently or collaboratively in a demanding environment.
  • Commitment to upholding ABB's Code of Conduct, policies, and standards (including EPPs), ensuring contractors and vendors operate in full alignment with ABB's values and ways of working.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent Continuous Improvement certification is preferred.
  • Candidates must already possess authorization to work for ABB in the US.
