Position Overview

The Server at The Virginian Golf Club plays a key role in delivering exceptional dining experiences across our venues: The Clubhouse, Oasis Bar & Grill, and Twenty-two Bar & Grille. With a genuine passion for hospitality and strong serving experience, the Server provides professional, attentive service that enhances member and guest satisfaction while upholding the club’s reputation for excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet members and guests warmly & timely, creating a welcoming and professional dining atmosphere.
  • Present menus and provide knowledgeable recommendations on food, beverage, and wine pairings.
  • Accurately take and enter orders into the POS system, clearly communicating modifications or allergies to the kitchen.
  • Serve food and beverages promptly, following established service standards and presentation guidelines.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction throughout service and address issues courteously and efficiently.
  • Anticipate guest needs, proactively offering refills, additional items, or dessert and after-dinner options.
  • Collaborate with kitchen, bar, and support staff to ensure seamless and timely service delivery.
  • Maintain dining room cleanliness and readiness, including resetting tables, polishing silverware, and sanitizing service areas.
  • Process payments accurately, maintaining accountability for cash and credit transactions.
  • Participate in pre-shift meetings, trainings, and service reviews to stay informed of menu updates and club events.
  • Consistently uphold The Virginian’s standards of hospitality, professionalism, and service excellence.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a high-volume restaurant or fine dining environment.
    Availability: Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred:

  • Education: Coursework or training in hospitality, culinary, or a related field.
  • Experience: Prior experience in private clubs, resorts, or luxury dining.
