Description:

We are seeking an experienced Software Integration Engineer to join our dynamic team supporting a Department of Defense (DoD) software development and integration program. This position plays a critical role in integrating, configuring, deploying, and validating software builds within a primarily Windows-based enterprise environment utilizing Windows Server, Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), VMware virtual infrastructure, and Red Hat OpenShift container platforms.


The successful candidate will support software installation, system integration, containerized application deployment, testing, troubleshooting, and software release activities to ensure mission-critical capabilities are successfully delivered to the customer.


Key Responsibilities

  • Configure and maintain Windows Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), including domain membership, Group Policy, DNS, and authentication services supporting integrated systems.
  • Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot containerized applications utilizing Red Hat OpenShift within Windows-based enterprise environments.
  • Support software containerization efforts and deployment of applications into OpenShift clusters.
  • Install, configure, and validate software builds, patches, hotfixes, and system updates into the Common Software Baseline.
  • Support software deployment activities at government and contractor facilities, ensuring successful installation and operational readiness.
  • Assist with the planning, coordination, execution, and validation of software releases supporting engineering, test, and production environments.
  • Support Government objectives to deliver four planned software releases annually while adapting to emergent operational requirements.
  • Execute software installation verification and perform post-installation functional testing to validate successful deployments.
  • Configure operating systems, application software, Windows services, networking components, and container platforms required for integrated system operation.
  • Troubleshoot software installation issues, Active Directory authentication problems, OpenShift container deployment issues, networking conflicts, and system integration deficiencies.
  • Support software build validation and acceptance testing prior to customer delivery.
  • Execute and document multiple testing disciplines including:
  • Software Build Acceptance Testing, Integration Testing, Regression Testing, Functional Testing, Verification & Validation (V&V), Automation Testing, Cybersecurity Compliance Testing (CCT).
  • Develop, execute, and maintain test procedures, test cases, test plans, and detailed test reports.
  • Capture and document test results, anomalies, defect reports, corrective actions, and integration issues.
  • Support system troubleshooting during laboratory, engineering, customer demonstration, and formal acceptance events.
  • Assist in maintaining software version control and configuration management processes.
  • Coordinate with systems engineering, cybersecurity, quality assurance, DevSecOps, and configuration management personnel to ensure software baselines remain compliant and properly documented.
  • Provide remote and on-site integration and test support at government and contractor facilities as required.
  • Participate in technical interchange meetings, integration reviews, readiness assessments, and customer demonstrations.
Requirements:
  • Experience integrating, installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows-based software applications.
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD), Navy, or other federal programs.
  • Experience with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform administration and application deployment.
  • Experience with Kubernetes concepts including pods, deployments, services, routes, persistent volumes, and namespaces.
  • Experience administering Windows Server environments and Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS).
  • Experience deploying and supporting applications within Red Hat OpenShift or Kubernetes-based container platforms.
  • Experience supporting software containerization and container lifecycle management.
  • Experience supporting software deployment and installation in VMware virtual environments.
  • Working knowledge of Windows Server, Windows desktop operating systems, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
  • Experience creating, configuring, and maintaining VMware virtual machines.
  • Experience supporting software integration, system integration, or software deployment efforts.
  • Experience executing structured software testing activities and documenting test results.
  • Understanding of software release processes, software baselines, and configuration management principles.
  • Familiarity with software defect tracking and issue resolution processes.
  • Experience troubleshooting software, operating system, virtualization, networking, and container platform issues.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Willingness to travel to government and contractor facilities in support of integration and test events.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a CompTIA Security Plus certification prior to start date.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
