Job description


Hilltop Holdings is seeking a Finance Optimization Intern. The Finance Optimization Intern will work closely with our Finance teams and other departments to gain hands-on experience in the profession while assisting with several key initiatives across the company. They will develop entry-level experience in the financial services industry, including development and delivery of initiatives, and effective practices.
Responsibilities
  • This individual will gain exposure to the basic functions in Finance, Accounting, or Tax and will develop entry level experience in the financial services industry. This includes exposure to different functions across the organization and involvement in finance organization transformation tasks.
  • Provide clerical and administrative support
  • Provide strategic planning support by assisting with monthly analysis, projections and identifying trends for revenues and expenses
  • Provide project support related to analyzing firm performance and compiling reports
  • Ad hoc work, which includes interaction and support of requests from c-suite and members of the executive leadership team
  • Other duties as assigned
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Rising Senior pursuing business, finance, economics, accounting, statistics or related field is preferred
  • Some experience (1 - 2 years) is preferred but not required
  • Computer hardware, operating system (Windows or Mac), and software/application (MS Office, Internet Explorer, Outlook etc.) skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office (particularly Excel and PowerPoint), PowerBI is a plus
  • Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills
  • Proven self-starter who can initiate tasks and follow up to completion
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills
  • Desire to learn about career opportunities in the financial services industry
  • Candidate MUST have authorization to work for any employer in the US without requiring sponsorship, whether in student status or not
