Job description

List the job's essential or most important functions and responsibilities. Include all important aspects of the job -- whether performed daily, weekly, monthly, or annually; and any that occur at irregular intervals.

 Coatings Furnace Operator Duties:

  • Coordinates load, unload and monitor multiple furnaces
  • Enter program data, monitors equipment observes temperature and flow gauges, adjust parameters, timing, and temperatures, 
  • Record and log hourly data, annotate furnace variances, verify completeness of documentation to comply with NADCAP requirements.
  • Complete all written and or electronic data, labor tracking and quality requirements 
  • Effectively and efficiently produce parts according to specifications and quality guidelines
  • Assist in maintenance and quality in performing required calibrations, SAT, TUS, repair and troubleshooting of equipment.
  • Dry hone, grit blast component pieces
  • Heat tint material
  • Material regeneration
  • Pack and unpack parts
  • Monitor Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) furnace load, unload engage gases
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with peers, leadership, and customers.
  • Always utilize proper PPE and safety equipment.
  • Cross-train other employees
  • Maintain, implement, and improve 5-S Principles.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality required.
  • Adhere to and promote Corporate Code of Ethical Standards.
  • Ensure compliance with Company IPM/QPM and ISO quality requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily

  • Familiar with Eurytherm software
  • Must possess the ability to interpret process sheets/print specifications and apply strict specifications while working with close tolerances
  • Experience in a self-directed teaming environment.
  • Self-motivated with a high level of ownership and accountability
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment working with furnaces, overhead cranes, forklift
  • Lean skills continually drive process improvements
  • Team building skills

  • Must be fluent in English, i.e. speaking, reading, writing

List the level of education and/or experience needed to successfully accomplish the essential duties of this job.

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must pass various annual exams.
