Overview:

Onin Staffing is hiring General Laborers for our Cottonseed Processing Plants!
  • $19/hr
  • Currently hiring for 1st Shift 7a-3:30pm

  • CLEAN BACKGROUND REQUIRED
Responsible for supporting daily seed treating, bagging, and counting operations. Duties include monitoring equipment, ensuring packaging and treatment accuracy, performing minor repairs, entering production data, and assisting with inventory and cleanup tasks as needed.
  • Participate in daily seed counting, bagging, and treating operations within the plant.
  • Operate and maintain automatic seed sampling equipment to ensure accurate sampling from each seed lot.
  • Assist with seed counts for packaging and collection of quality assurance (QA) samples.
  • Input monitoring data for the treating and packaging areas as directed.
  • Monitor packaging quality, including bag printing, placards, barcoding, and wrapping.
  • Ensure treatment processes are applied accurately and consistently.
  • Perform general repairs on bag placers, baggers, treaters, and palletizers during both operational and shutdown periods.
  • Assist in cleaning the treating and bagging areas during variety changeovers.
  • Help with sorting and inventory counts during the carryover season.
  • Support the carryover blending process based on seed counts.
  • Assist in inventory counts of chemicals and packaging materials.
  • Comply with all safety protocols in the seed counting, bagging, and treatment areas.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

Skills and Experience:

Required Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in manufacturing, seed production, ginning, seed conditioning, or relevant farm/mechanical work
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Confined Space Entry (CSE)
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Experience with basic equipment repairs and mechanical troubleshooting
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to stack and move 50 lb. bags as needed
  • General mechanical aptitude and willingness to assist with hands-on tasks
