Job Overview
We are hiring a Manufacturing Process Engineer to support production operations, improve manufacturing efficiency, and assist with new program launches. This role works closely with engineering, maintenance, quality, and production teams to ensure stable processes and successful implementation of new products and equipment.
This position is well suited for an engineer who enjoys solving production problems, improving processes on the floor, and supporting both day-to-day operations and long-term manufacturing improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and refine manufacturing processes for new and existing products
- Build process documentation including work instructions, process flows, and labor standards
- Support new product introductions and production ramp-ups
- Evaluate and improve production layouts using Lean principles
- Identify and resolve manufacturing issues using structured problem-solving methods (8D, root cause analysis)
- Support Engineering Change implementation and documentation updates
- Assist in equipment installation, upgrades, and production line modifications
- Collaborate with maintenance teams on equipment reliability and downtime reduction
- Work with suppliers to validate equipment and ensure manufacturing readiness
- Support capital improvement and facility enhancement projects
- Apply AIAG Core Tools in daily engineering and launch activities
- Monitor production performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Participate in cross-functional launch teams and production readiness reviews
- Travel to supplier or customer sites as needed for launches or troubleshooting
- Maintain focus on safety, quality, and efficiency across all activities
QualificationsRequired- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field
- Experience in manufacturing, production, or process engineering
- Understanding of assembly or industrial manufacturing environments
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and engineering software tools
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
- 3–5 years of manufacturing engineering experience
- Automotive or high-volume production experience
- Familiarity with robotics, automation, or industrial equipment
- Experience with maintenance coordination or planning
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma exposure
- Experience supporting new product launches
Equivalent hands-on manufacturing experience may substitute for formal education in certain cases.
