Job Title

Process Engineer - Finishing

Position Overview

Shaw Industries is looking for a Process Engineer toinitiateand lead efforts that improve the Finishing department (Coater & Offline Shear) in all areas such as safety, cost, quality, customer service, and development of the Finishing team. Responsibilities will include working on continuous improvement of processes by developing and driving innovative solutions. In addition, this position will manage the flow of products through the departments and build customer satisfaction by ensuring the production of first qualitycarpet.

Essential Duties:

  • Achieving first quality of Finishing Dept. products by leadinginitiatives

  • Establishing procedures that drive safety, quality, and cost

  • Setup and/orassiston manufacturing trials and raw material changes

  • Responsible for Lockout/Tagout program

  • Lead and drive downtime reduction efforts

  • Develop and/ormaintainprocess specifications for eachprocess

  • Collaborate with internal/external suppliers, customers, and other facilities

  • Responsible forsubmittingrequests forSMSchanges toQ.E. Department.

  • Communicate and train Finishing Department personnel on operating procedures

  • Responsible for leading the data analytics efforts for the departmentregardingproduction, downtime, quality, cost, etc.

  • Responsible for process improvement system for each process.

  • Demonstrate good judgment concerning quality

  • Coach & support supervisors and associates

  • Fill in for the Finishing department manager or shift supervisors as needed

Qualifications

  • 4-yeardegreerequired; Engineering degree preferred

  • Previousmanufacturing experience preferred

  • Strong communicationskills (written and oral)

  • Strong analyticaland technicalskills
